The Problem
To intrude or not to intrude? Its hard to stay connected when living far apart
How Might We
How can we help alleviate the grunt work of maintaining long distance relationships such as managing time zones or even growing relationships?
Introducing the ideal design for Cosmos—a way for distance to fade and connection to stay
Track relationship proximity via your galactic orbit
The closer the orbit, the more often you communicate with that loved one
01
Set your personal clock
With a poetic and sleek interface cosmos is perfect for using as an everyday clock anywhere in your space
Market Value
Increase the daily usage rate by providing a clock mode that lets people reference their own personal time
02
Dial into the orbital time of
your loved ones
Each loved one is a planet that you can compare times with
Market Value
Create a modified version of what competitors are currently doing such as viewing a 24 hour clock to see what time it is for you versus a friend's planet
03
Set proximity goals with those
on outer orbits
Noticed you haven't talked to someone
in a while? Set a goal to talk to them more!
Market Value
This feature is a key differentiator from competitors who do not visualize the proximity of relationships
Physical UX
Slide the rim of the device parallel to a telescope pointed at the night sky in order to dial into different clock modes
App explorations
I designed how the app might
look in the MVP stage
I considered how to conserve the design from
the ideal design (tier 3) to an app for the MVP (tier 1)
Brand Identity
I was inspired by the erratic nature of relationships and the quiet, subtle perfection of the cosmos
Revenue streams
To grow as a product, Cosmos has multiple streams of revenue to create a liquid cash flow

Have a lot of contacts across the world? Add another galaxy to cosmos for a subscription fee
Research Insights
Scheduling is an unrelenting chore
Scheduling must happen in cycles where family, friends, or lovers must always coordinate with one another about when they are free to connect
Its easy to “break off”
Without a person living in proximity to you it’s easy to lose track and therefore lose a relationship
A fear of intrusion
It’s hard to tell if someone even wants to hang out or if they are simply too busy
Market Size
The market size is large with many individuals relying on
digital forms of communication to keep in touch
Multi relationship maintainence and synced scheduling are not often offered by competitors, creating room for opportunity
Our product
Our competitors
Differentiators
Our product will focus on a modified approach for a long distance clock that is designed for multi relationship care and synced scheduling
Multi time zone tracking
Those that relocate often have connections all over—therefore they need a clock that can cover the globe
01
Synced Scheduling
A way to nudge a moment to connect without forcing an exact time to call
02
Intentional Proximity
Provide awareness of what relationships are closer in orbit versus those that are distant
03
Mid Fidelity Prototyping
Moving Forward
Design for Phase 1
Currently the north star for the optimal Cosmos design has been solidified. However it’s now time to create the Cosmos app that will provide instant revenue
Strategize and research
The best kind of product is one that solves the problem well. With more research conducted with stakeholders, Cosmos may continue improving its business model
